This reminds me of what Jesus said in Matthew 18:18, "Whatever you control on earth is controlled out of heaven, whatever you release on earth is released out of heaven." When believers gather together for the express purpose of releasing the Holy Spirit, He is released out of heaven.
Which reminds me of something else Jesus said, "Be it done unto you according to your faith." This means that what we are believing is incredibly important. The American Church has been taught how to be healed by faith, receive wealth by faith, but not how to release the power of God into the earth by faith. Our prayers for revival are not made in faith, they are made in some watered down form of hope.
Most praying in tongues is not done for any expressed purpose. Most believers don't know why they should allow the river to flow from their belly. Very few of the biblical reasons for using the gift are taught by those who embrace the experience and most church leaders are more about controlling the gift of God, than they are about encouraging its release.
In Matthew 16:19, Jesus told the disciples, "I am giving you the keys to the kingdom of heaven." From my perspective, it would make much more sense if Jesus had given the keys to the kingdom of God to the disciples. What business do the disciples have with the keys to the kingdom of heaven. This would seem to be way too much authority for men on earth to hold. Yet Jesus went on to explain that whatever the disciples bound on earth would be bound out of heaven, whatever the disciples loosed on earth, would be loosed out of heaven.
Then Jesus gave mankind the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Godhead, and the authority to bind and loose the kingdom of heaven makes sense. In John 7:38 Jesus said, "All who believe on me will have rivers of Living Water flowing out of their bellies." Are you a believer on Jesus? It was the Holy Spirit that poured out of the belly of those who gathered to faithfully wait for the baptism with the Spirit on the day of Pentecost, therefore, the Living Water is the gift of tongues.
Are you ready for the next revival? It will take many believers releasing the Living Water out of their bellies in faith on God's Word to produce the next revival. Moreover, the size and scope of the next revival will be proportional to the amount of Living Water released by believers on the earth, plus the amount of faith exercised in that release. Jesus said, "I will release out of heaven whatever you release on earth." Please join me in letting the rivers of God flow.
