Getting slightly off topic, our God is so much more powerful and greater than anything else in creation, He is totally non-threatened by anything. When Satan usurped man's control over the earth, which was not actually given to man by God, He honored Satan's usurpation. He is so much greater than Satan, Satan's actions did not threaten God or His plan in the least. It would be foolish for God to create anything that could actually challenge Him. God, being all knowing, knows ahead of time the ramifications of His creation.
When Jesus died on the cross, He redeemed mankind from the fall from grace in the garden and promptly reinstated man's control over the earth, "Whatever you loose on earth, will be loosed from heaven" (Matt. 18:18). Mankind has just as much God on the earth as he desires to have. The Holy Spirit is released into the earth from inside man's spirit.
In John 4, Jesus informs the woman at the well that He can provide her with a well of water springing up to everlasting life. Verse 10 informs us that this water is Living Water, and John 7:39 reveals Living Water to be the Holy Spirit. In John 7:38, Jesus said, "All who believe on me will have rivers of Living Water flowing out of their Belly," and in Acts 2:4, those who passionately waited for the baptism of the Spirit received rivers of the Holy Spirit pouring out of their belly. The Holy Spirit manifested Himself as tongues. If mankind wants more of God on the earth, all they have to do is release Him from inside their bellies.
However, before the Holy Spirit can flow out of the belly of those who have believed in Jesus to be washed from their sins, believers must wait with extreme passion and yield their lives to the Holy Spirit. When they have successfully yielded, the Holy Spirit will flow out of their bellies. The original 11 disciples fasted and prayed for ten days, for some, it takes a much shorter span of time and for others, much longer. Each individual is different.
Jesus was very clear when He told the disciples that all the blessings of heaven are either bound up in heaven, or loosed out of heaven, by our actions on earth. If we do not release the Holy Spirit on the earth, He will be bound in heaven.
So, the next time you need God to do something for you on earth, ask yourself, am I releasing Him? Jesus said all who believed on Him would have rivers of Living Water flowing out of their bellies. Are you releasing rivers of Living Water, or trickles and spurts?
